The Second Presence

"I summon," Jaden calls throwing down a card with some serious dramatic, and slightly unnecessary, flare,"Neospacian Grand Mole!"
Taika blinks confusedly, doing a double take when she sees the monster. "Er...I'm sorry, but it looks like an armored hamster..." she says, noticing an amused smirk on Jaden's face.
"I never realized it, but it sorta does, doesn't it?" this somehow recieves an immediate reaction from the monster, who turns and huffs angrily at Jaden. Surprisingly, Taika had seen this sort of thing with her own monsters, especially Faerie Fox when she was still in her deck. Jaden laughed, a warm, comforting sound...
'NO. Stop. Deep Breath.' Not good, Taika was letting the feelings she had for Jaden get to her. Her gaze caught on his eyes,(deep brown, like melting chocolate...) only now they had an edge to them.
'Well, I don't usually do this while I'm dueling, but...' Taika thought, preparing for a Soul Search. Soul Search was the name she had made up for it, and so far, only she could do it. When she tried it on Nimue, pretty much stuff she already knew came about, though apparently Nimue really didn't like it when Taika had done so. She tried it on other people, but never durring a duel.
As she started to read Jaden though, something blocked her path, and when she retreated, his eyes were...different. The were sharper, angrier and oddly colored, too: one a turquoise-blue color, the other an unnerving shade of cat-like orange.
>WHO ARE YOU?< A voice yelled in Taika's head, most definately not Faerie Fox, almost forcing Taika to her knees. And suddenly Faerie Fox was there, taking her self-proclaimed throne on Taika's shoulder.
>Are you okay, Tai?< she whispered worriedly, her surprisingly soothing voice in stark contrast from the previous one.
>I..I'm okay, really,< Taika replies forcing strength back into her legs so that she could regain her balance.
"Hey!" Jaden called, running over to Taika's side. "Taika, are you alright?"
"TAIKA!" Nimue screams, scrambling over.
"Hey, Nim, don't freak. I'm fine, really I-" Taika's legs give out, and she tumbles strait into Jaden's arms.
"Lay down," he says, smoothing back Taika's hair. Taika looked strait into his eyes, which were back to their normal shade of warm, chocolatey brown, and sees almost no trace of the secondary presence she'd sensed earlier.
"I-I'm fine, really," Taika says, pushing herself up. Her face is flushed, so she turns away slightly, hoping he doesn't see.
Jaden's expression relaxes, but he still appears worried. "Alright, if you say so," he glances at his watch. Then he sighs and calls softly to Winged Kuriboh. "The entrance exams will be just about over, you two better hurry up and get back in there. Oh, and Taika," he says, glancing back before turning away, "keep on your gaurd, you never know what's around the corner." Jaden's eyes flash those odd colors once before returning to normal.
"I'll admit he's cute," Nimue whispers, turning back towards the arena entrance. "But those eyes are a deal breaker for me."
>Can't say I disagree,< Faerie Fox mutters, taking her place on Taika's shoulder. Taika says nothing to either of them, just calmly watching Jaden leave. She sighs once before turning to follow Nimue.
