Roomies

"Um, Taika?"
"What?" Taika growls groggily.
"Uh, duh, we're here!" Nimue says, poking Taika in the arm.
"Really?" Taika responds, sitting up quickly. Faerie Fox, who was apparently taking a nap on Taika's lap, fell to the floor with an indignant squawk.
>Hey!< she mutters, jumping onto Taika's shoulder.
>Oh, hush,< Taika responds, looking around. "Hey, where is everyone?"
"Well, duh," Nimue answers, pulling her bags down from the racks above their heads. "Everyone is already on the island, Tai."
"Oh," Taika says, pulling her own bag down. As the head towards the door, a very tall, lean mean greets them with a heavy, yet rather fake, French or British accent.
"Ah, yes, you two must be the last ones off!" He hands Tiaka and Nimue two slips of paper; one red, one blue. Then he looks disdainfully at Taika's red cut-off jacket, mini-skirt, and skinny jeans, but approvingly at Nimue's blue collar and short skirt. "I am Dr. Crowler, Vice Chancelor and second-in-comand at this most illustirious acadamy." he says with a wave of his hand. He hands Nimue the blue ticket delicately and rather politely, yet pretty much just tosses the red ticket to Taika. "Now," he says delicately steering Nimue away, "the Obelisk Blue dorm is right this way." Yet again, he glances back at Taika disdainfully, motioning in the opposite direction and calling: "The Slifer Red dorm is that way," saying the words as though they left a bad taste in his mouth.
>Well, that was rather inconciderate!< Faerie Fox huffs, settling on Taika's shoulder.
>No kidding, man would I like to give that guy a piece of my mind,< Taika growls in response.
>Wait, that was a guy?< Faerie Fox says with mock disbelief, making Taika giggle.>Coulda fooled me.<
Taika laughs and picks up her bag, turning in the opposite direction the good Doctor had steered Nimue. She shruggs and starts off, only barely seeing a building by the water a ways away.

>That was quite the commute,< Taika says, dumping her bag on the steps. She digs the red ticket out of her pocket and reads it again. "Slifer Red, room twenty-four. My favorite number," she sighs, slumping her shoulders. Taika stands up and tosses her bag over her shoulder and climbing the stairs. As she's walking towards room twenty-four, it sounds like something explodes down the hallway.
>Well that can't be good,< Faerie Fox says. Taika just nods in response and takes off down the walkway.
"Oh, well then," Taika mutters, coming to room twenty-four's door. Smoke is spilling out from the bottom, making Taika nervous. "Time to, um, meet my room mates, I guess."
Taika opens the door and gets hit in the face with chalky smoke that clings to her clothes. She coughs, waving a hand in front of her face, and calls into the smoke filled room. "um, hello?"
"Hey, man, what's going on?" a voice called out in response.
"See, Hana, I told you we were gonna get a roomie today!"
"Calm yourself, Yuki, your givin' off that negative energy again, du-ude."
Taika stepped into the room, fanning the smoke out of her face. "Wha-?" The room slowly clears of smoke, though 'room' probably not the best term for it. It was more like a broom closet with a bed and a window. There was three beds, actually, all on top of eachother. "Um...hello?" Taika called, looking around once more. Suddenly a figure pops up in front of her, making Taika yelp and fall back.
"Hi, there! You must be our new roomie, freshman!" the figure says, their voice high pitched and very, very loud. "My name's Yuki, I'm a second year Slifer Red and your official tour guide for the year!" Yuki said, the words spilling out of her mouth so quickly, she had to gasp when she was done.
Before Yuki could start again, Taika slapped her hand over her mouth. "Nice to meet ya' Yuki, my name is Taika Dulca," she explained calmly.
"Nice to meet ya', man. The name's Hanako, dudes," a voice calls from the top bunk. A face appears over the railing, though it's almost completely covered by scruffy, bed-head hair. "Slifer Red and rockin' the third year, dudes!" Hanako calls down.
"Nice to meet you, Hanako, my name is Taika, and I guess I would be considered a first year," Taika responds.
>Weirdos,< Faerie Fox mutters.
>Hey now, watch your language, Fox,< Taika says, glaring at Faerie Fox.
"Hey," Yuki says, waving a hand in front of Taika's face. "Taika? What exactly are you looking at?"
"Oh! Uh, nothing," Taika says, smiling nervously waving her hands back and forth.
"No worries, dude," Hanako says, leaning over the side of the bunk bed. "I can see the Spirits, too man!"
"Really?" Taika says, looking at Hanako in awe.
"Yeah, it's totally radical, man. Me an' my monsters have some deep chats, dudes."
"So, wait, you can see the spirits of your duel monsters, Taika? Not. Cool." Yuki says, crossing her arms.
"Huh?" Taika says turning back to Yuki.
"I feel so left out!"
"Negative energy, man," Hanako says, rolling over so that her entire upper body hangs off the top of the bunk.
"I...I guess I'm sorry?" Taika says, looking rather awkward.
"It's all good, man!" Hanako says, dropping down to stand next to Yuki.
>Odd looking couple, aren't they?< Faerie Fox says, squinting at the two of them.
'Can't say I disagree,' Taika thinks, taking in the details of both of them. Hanako's bright red hair, done up in twin pony-tails, contrasted dramatically with her dark eyes and complexion. Her low hanging  Slifer Red jacket was unbuttoned and hung open to show her dark blue tang top, which matched her slightly baggy jeans perfectly.
Yuki, on the other hand, was practly the exact opposite: A pale complexion with bright green eyes and multi-colored hair, a black crown with twin green braids and baby-blue short pig-tails. Her jacket was buttoned up, yet it hung over her short white skirt. The jacket itself had it's sleeves rolled up to reveal a sea-green long-sleeve underneath, and was covered with paint splaters all over. Her knee-high sea-green socks were just barely visible, rising just over her red lace-up boots. The entire outfit matched Yuki's cocky and unimpressed facial expression perfectly.
"Now, c'mon," Yuki says, grabbing Taika's wrist and pulling her forward. "Being a first year, you so-o don't wanna make the mistake of missing the welcome dinner!"
"Totally, man," Hanako says keeping pace with Yuki, "this place actually has some decent food, even if it's not Obelisk Blue."
>Food?!< Faerie fox says, running up and jumping on Taika's shoulder. >Sweet! I'm am so gonna love it here!<
